The Puntland Ministry of Interior has announced a collaborative agreement among political parties to establish local councils in the Nugaal region’s three districts: Garowe, Dangorayo, and Godobjiran.
The agreement, reached between the Kaah, Mideeye, Runcad, and Workers parties, marks a pivotal moment in Puntland’s political landscape.
Under the terms of the agreement, the Kaah party will take the lead in appointing governors for each district. Kaynaan Abdi Jama Hirsi is set to be the candidate for the Godob-Jiraan District Governor, while Hamid Ahmed Haji Mohamed will assume the role for Dangorayo District.

In Garowe, Abdulqadir Mohamed Mohamud (Geedi) has been selected as the District Governor candidate.
Additionally, the Mideeye party will fill deputy governor positions, with Mohamed Ahmed Saleh nominated as the Deputy Governor of Godob-Jiraan and Ahmed Isse Saeed taking on the same role for Dangorayo.
Mohamed Ali Mohamed (Hamari) will serve as the Deputy Governor of Garowe District. This agreement signifies a commitment to strengthening local governance and fostering political cooperation in Puntland.
